As a result, the rollers in the Drew Estate factory were unable to access these premium leaves to make Liga Privada cigars for themselves.
In response to this dilemma, the factory workers decided to craft their own cigars using a blend of tobacco that was similar to Liga Privada but more readily available. This led to the creation of the Undercrown blend, which became a way for the rollers to enjoy high-quality cigars without depleting the limited Liga Privada tobacco supply.
The Undercrown blend was eventually refined and released to the public in 2011.
