Video: Oliva Cigars 135th Years Anniversary

When I was in Las Vegas for the PCA2022, I made a video in which I talked with Brian Shapiro (Brand Ambassador Oliva Cigars) about the Oliva Serie V 135th Year Anniversary.

Brian explains a bit more about the limited annual release in this video.

Transcript:

Hi, I’m here with Brian Shapiro, Global Brand Ambassador for Oliva Cigars. We’re standing in front of the presentation of the 135 year anniversary, as Brian is pointing out.

Just want to ask Brian a little bit about this product. Where does it come from? What kind of tobacco is in there? How special is it, Brian?

Yeah, so the product, well, first of all, the most important, welcome to Vegas, everybody, number one. Number two is, for this particular cigar, the packaging stands out first and foremost, because it’s just a beautiful presentation done by our team, our marketing team, and of course our factory, our box factory, so we’re very proud of the presentation.

The cigar itself is not very much different. In fact, it’s the same as our Serie V, so the tobacco, Nicaraguan Habano, and Nicaraguan binder and fillers make up this particular cigar. The difference is it’s kind of a hybrid, let’s say in size, between a Double Robusto and a Perfecto. So it’s not a, we call it a, I call it an “almost Perfecto,” because the bottom doesn’t come to an actual point, it remains a little bit open. But if you’ll see it when Hans will give you a closeup, you’ll see that the cigar comes to a bit of a point.

It’s a beautiful cigar. It smokes fabulously. The good news about this, and while it’s a limited edition, we will do continuous releases of this cigar. We’ve released this cigar both in the United States and for the markets abroad around the world, and we will release another version, the same cigar, but another release of it, later this year.

So I believe this is something that we will have continuously, albeit maybe once a year, so consumers can, if they love it, they wait, a little patience, they’ll get it again the following year.

Okay. Well, thank you very much, Brian. Thanks for explaining this product and I’m sure you’ll see this in the market. And if you do see it, I’ll recommend buying it, because it is quite, quite special.

Beautiful. Okay.
