High Marks From Cigar Aficionado For Undercrown 10

In the latest edition of Cigar Aficionado’s biweekly newsletter Cigar Insider they published a review of the Undercrown 10 Corona Doble and it scored admirably!

The Undercrown 10 or UC 10 was released this year on Freestyle Live Special Edition to much excitement and fanfare.

The blend of the Undercrown 10 is similar to that of the Undercrown Maduro with the Mexican San Andres Wrapper, a Connecticut Broadleaf Binder and Filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, but the differentiator is the priming of the leaves used in the UC 10. In this blend our master blender used the highest priming and most premium leaves of each of these tobaccos, creating a sophisticated and complex smoking experience. But don’t take it from us, check out what the pros at Cigar Aficionado had to say about the Undercrown 10 Corona Doble:

Cigar Aficionado Magazine notes about the Undercrown 10 line that “ While similar to the Undercrown Maduro line with its dark, Mexican wrapper, the new Undercrown 10 is quite different, made with a Connecticut broadleaf binder rather than Connecticut Habano, and only Nicaraguan filler without any Brazilan tobacco.

The packaging also differs slightly with its yellow ribbon and slightly modified band design. Drew Estate meant for these cigars to have power and four sizes of Undercrown 10 realize the company’s intentions with all of them registering as medium-full or full, but the Churchill-sized Corona Doble was the most balanced culmination of strength and flavor, scoring the highest at 91 points.”

Regarding the Undercrown 10 Corona Doble specifically, Cigar Aficionado notes the following:

CORONA DOBLE – 91

Though solidly rolled, this large, near-black Churchill draws well and burns quite evenly, forming a flaky white ash. First puffs make a strong statement with earth and dark-roasted coffee, but settle down to reveal nuances of semi-sweet chocolate, baking spices, nuts and a hint of raisin. A bold smoke.

A huge thanks to our friends at Cigar Aficionado for their great review!
